Mawonga Station Site Inspection

Board members and the IPA Coordinator attended a site visit to Mawonga homestead on Friday 14 May 2021 to see what needed to be done as COVID had disrupted cultural camps and visits to the property for more than 12 months.

A report outlining works that required immediate attention was then presented to the Board for their consideration.

Broken vinyl tiles in kitchen/dining area were a safety hazard. We were fortunate enough to source these tiles through a local Griffith business who had the last 21 in stock, which was enough

to make the necessary repairs to this area which reduced costs.

Window coverings were assorted and not in all bedrooms.  The fading to floor coverings and

heat from bare windows needed to be addressed, so the Board made the decision to

install day/night blinds which were sourced from Bunnings.

Internal walls have not been painted during our time at Mawonga

and is probably the original paint from when the house was  purchased and relocated to property.

Full internal paint of all rooms was carried out after being comprehensively cleaned.
